Q: DOES IFOL Recognize CAPP?

Q: WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO MAINTAIN MY CAPP CERTIFICATION?
A: In order to maintain your certification, you must become a Certified Member (details) of The Institute of Financial Operations and Leadership. Membership provides you with access to certification update, monthly online events and the members annual general meeting.
How To Register
Q: DO I NEED TO BE A MEMBER TO ENROL?
A: It’s not essential but membership with IFOL is highly recommended as it provides students with additional learning resources every month all of which are recognized CPD/E for CAPP. More on joining IFOL here
Q: HOW DO I DETERMINE IF I AM ELIGIBLE?
A: There are no formal eligibility requirements to enrol in the CAPP certification programme. The program offers learning resources which teach foundation skills and knowledge then progresses to advanced topics.
Preparing for the Exam
Q: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CAPP STATUS AND THE CERTIFIED ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST (CAPS) AND THE CERTIFIED ACCOUNTS PAYABLE MANAGER (CAPM)?
A: The CAPP programme is essentially both CAPS and CAPM courses and exams combined to offer the highest level of Accounts Payable Certification available, CAPP. You can choose to complete the CAPS or CAPM courses individually and each will earn you the relevant certificate and designation. If you decided to complete both courses separately, you will still earn the CAPP certificate and designation.
Q: HOW MANY QUESTIONS ARE THERE FOR EACH ELEMENT?
A: For each course module, there are 5-10 questions to complete as the materials are worked through. The final exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions.
Taking the Exam
Q: I PASSED THE EXAM. WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY CERTIFICATE?
A: Your digital certificate will be awarded immediately and you will receive a copy via email. The formal certificate will also be posted to you within 14 days (please allow for delays due to Covid-19)
Q: I TOOK THE EXAM AND DID NOT PASS. HOW DO I RE-TAKE?
A: If you did not pass the exam, you will be asked to complete certain elements of the courses again. Once you have done this you will be able to re-take the final exam.
Q: HOW MANY TIMES CAN I RETAKE THE EXAM?
A: You are able to retake the exam twice in a 3 month period
Q: WHAT IS THE PASSING SCORE FOR THE EXAM?
A: You must achieve a minimum score of 80% on the final exam to pass. Those who achieve 100% will pass with merit.
Q: DO I NEED TO BOOK THE EXAM?
A: No. The exam can be taken at a time to suit you. After completing the relevant course, the exam will become available to you within the learning platform.
